PROJECT DEVELOPMENT
Owing to the NRGgroup structure, we offer comprehensive and well-founded know-how in creating and implementing holistic energy concepts and their economic assessment and optimization. We provide support for undertakings, such as:
- Technical design;
- Contractual organization (fuel delivery, energy sales, shareholder structure);
- Procurement of required authorizations, building permits, required technical approvals (e.g. German Federal Immission Protection, Bundesimmissionsschutz, BImSch);
- Financial and financing structure;
- Seamless project planning.
All the while, our aim is to present ecologically sensible projects and to conceptualize, organize and realize them technically / economically so as to create an equal measure of benefits for investors and energy customers.
We work to develop our own projects but are also happy to participate actively in customer projects or make ourselves available for consulting services (e.g. energy-related conception, feasibility considerations and project support). We are also the perfect partner to turn to when it comes to planning performance improvements of existing plants (e.g. plant optimisation, increased performance and renewal).
Individual services of note are:
Feasibility and economic viability studies
In addition to its ecological requirements, each biomass project must meet robust technical and economic framework conditions to make it fundamentally feasible, financeable and practicable. Here, the importance lies in the ability to determine the project progress with reasonable effort from initial estimates all the way to the concrete multi-year business plan.
Not only does NRGproject offer all the tools required for simulating the behaviour of any fuel used with any type of energy, we are also in a position to quickly assess investments as well as expense and revenue streams. This is how we determine the potential and degree of a project's profitability. Any further considerations are based on this foundation.
Project development services
The term project development encapsulates a complex process involving significant expenditure of money, time and effort in most cases. The individual steps in project development build on each other so as to create a complex iterative process comprising the process steps such as the following:
- Locating properties;
- Purchasing negotiations with municipalities and authorizing agencies;
- Procurement of engineering permits based on defined preplanned technology (BImSch, etc.);
- Investigating opportunities for subsidies;
- Clarification of fuel supply and appurtenant logistics;
- Identifying customers for electric, steam and heat energy;
- Preparing and finalizing appropriate purchase agreements;
- Technical and business project detail planning;
- Determination of project company's business structure (legal structure, legal form, organization of structure, operator, number of employees and qualifications etc.);
- Identification of and contact with potential investors (incl. development of financial and financing structure, contacting providers of outside capital), if applicable;
- Preparing and processing all documents to make them available for and meet essential criteria for due diligence by potential investors and financiers;
- Carry out due diligence by answering and clarifying all business, legal, technical and environmental questions;
- If necessary, create an environmental impact report;
- Engagement of an independent authority to verify all project factors for investors and financiers;
- Drafting all agreements required for fuel delivery (not merely volumes and weight but also moisture levels, shape and size, etc.) as well as all other characteristics determining quality and fuel value;
- Agreements with energy buyers, articles of organization, statutes right up to agreements with plant suppliers (general contractor or procurement of individual components and then involvement of a planner, if necessary);
- Cooperation agreement between all project participants;
- Financing and loan agreements etc.;
- Procurement of necessary insurance policies;
- Formation of necessary maintenance and insurance agreements for the term of the project.
Technical energy concepts
The important aspect of technical energy concepts is to produce those energies in demand at the respective project site from existing and/or available fuels in a manner as effectively, efficiently and ecologically as possible.
The particular expertise of NRGgroup partners in the field of recycling the most varied yet complex biomasses presents a tremendous advantage in achieving maximum energy yields "from all kinds of fuels".
At the same time, the process of energy generation must be organized so that any energy mix matched optimally to the requirements can be produced during the entire project term. This objective demands project-specific technical design that is clearly guided by local conditions (industrial and municipal customers), in-feed legislation etc.
NRGproject develops holistic technical concepts with components specifically designed to work together seamlessly to achieve maximum performance across the entire life cycle and is optimized based on cost and ecological aspects.
This then requires a comprehensive look at the entire project which is also reflected in the fact that NRGproject partners are willing to act as a general contractor, co-investor and take responsibility for the operation, maintenance and service across the entire life cycle of the plant.
Implementation support
We offer the option for our support of your biomass project throughout the entire implementation and commissioning phase once the planning and permitting stages are completed. This will ensure that all necessary steps mesh logically and can be executed successfully.
In this process, our service includes business support (controlling, payment streams, reporting to investors and financiers, accounting and auditing of accounts, etc.) as well as technical management of plant vendors and subcontractors or the general manager.
This is how we ensure that your project is implemented on time, on budget and at the quality level expected throughout the entire implementation phase.
